The attack potentially marked a major escalation in a series of maritime attacks in the Mideast linked to the Israel-Hamas war as multiple vessels found themselves in the crosshairs of a single Houthi assault for the first time in the conflict.

“We’re aware of reports regarding attacks on the USS Carney and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and will provide information as it becomes available,” the Defense Department told The Associated Press.

The Carney is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer that’s already shot down multiple rockets the Houthis have fired toward Israel so far in the war. It wasn’t damaged in the attack and no injuries were reported on board, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss early details of a military operation.

That’s a great way to get an over response from the Western World. I know they don’t love us after we supplied the Saudis but this is just stupid. They gain nothing and give the west an incentive.

I dunno. Imo WW3 won’t be everyone against a common enemy. It’ll be everyone at war with someone/something …

        Russia vs Ukraine

        Iran vs America

        Israel vs Hamas

North Korea vs everyone except China, SAE & Russia

America, Canada, Germany and the UK in right-vs-left civil wars

Mali, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Azerbaijan and Ethiopia in civil wars - sometimes on multiple fronts (esp Ethiopia)

            Not really.

Also there is increased warnings because of global warming and massive emmigration from nations to safer lands.

There have been numerous ongoing armed conflicts around the globe for the past 2 thousand plus years, were only aware of them all at once now because we have satellite communications. Records show that there are were wars happening in the past, it’s just that the Romans weren’t aware of what the Chinese, or Aztecs, or sub-Saharan African nations were doing and vice versa.

I do agree we’re in for a world of hurt as climate change forces us to abandon some parts of the globe due to unsurvivable conditions, I fear that billions of Indians will die when we lose that ~2100
