Why would he be fired for hitting his talking points? They feed him the line and he speaks the line.

If there is backlash enough, a canned apology is transmitted. If the response goes the other way, they consider the window shifted and prepare for the next milestone.

Anyone on the left would have lost their job in a heartbeat.

It’s time to stop holding those on the left to an entirely different, higher standard. It isn’t working and it only gives the fascists more power. This country is absolutely pathetic right now. Time to start putting some feet down and holding the line.

They are not pro genocide. They just understand nuance. You can be pro-Israel and anti-genocide. It requires mental capacity to also understand we can’t just abandon our ally because they have a shitty leader(s).

Should our allies abandon us because we elected Trump?

          Purity tests are dangerous.

Do you really think Harris would be this hands off on Israel had she been elected?

Gotta love how it’s only a purity test when it’s progressives asking for concessions from the center. When the center doesn’t want to compromise it’s never obstinacy, it’s merely “pragmatism” but the left is expected to concede nearly everything. Phooey!

You can be pro-Israel and anti-genocide.

That’s like saying you can be pro-nazi-germany and anti-nazi. There is no nuance in sending billions of dollars in weapons to a country actively committing genocide. That can only be taken to mean support for genocide.

We do know, because they had a year to stop it and instead they illegally gave Israel every bomb and bullet they wanted, even diverting weapon shipments from our other (slightly less) fascist puppet during a literal invasion, even going around congress to keep the weapons flowing, using diplomatic pressure and literally bombing other countries who tried to stop it.

@mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca can you please link to a source for this? I gather Charlie Kirk had said many unsavory things, but this is the first I’m reading that he called for executing the president. I tried searching the internet, but the top articles I read did not mention anything about this (or if they did, I missed it).

For example, this article from thenation.com and this article from snopes.com.

CHARLIE KIRK (HOST): I know what you’re thinking, we’ve got to get Joe Biden out of the way so we can run against Kammy. Oh my goodness, is she beatable. It’s like Black Hillary on steroids. Is she Black? I guess she says she’s Caribbean or whatever. … She would be a lot easier to beat than Joe Biden. Joe Biden is a bumbling dementia filled Alzheimer’s corrupt tyrant who should honestly be put in prison and/or given the death penalty for his crimes against America.

I am wondering why the articles that compile the nasty shit he said don’t include this

Those crimes against america… You mean like when Biden split with the party to join Strom Thurmon in opposing desegregation, the effects of which we can still see today?

          Oh Kirk liked that…

Then Biden’s '92 crime bill that heuristic targeted black people with 100:1 laws?

That too? Oh, he must have meant spending billions of our tax dollars to blow up brown people, staining all of our hands with their blood?

What exactly was Kirk’s issue with genocide Joe again?

You fire Dowd because he made a very non-offensive offhand remark, which kind of turned out to be true, sure seems like he was a fan at one point, prior to making well reasoned point that a person who make a living fomenting political violence as a solution would unintentionally be on the receiving end of political violence from someone that shared his sentiment.

But hey, literally advocating for people to be killed due to being homeless and in need of mental health care, is perfectly fine.

SMH. Honestly the “Left” is absolutely pathetic in not pushing back and playing the damn game of Calvinball when the stakes are this freaking high.

That’s not the left, those are liberal news organizations who absolutely prefer fascism to any economic system that would threaten the privilege of their owners. I will direct you to the wild disconnect between the average person, who identifies with not being able to receive healthcare, and the average pundit or oped writer who identifies with the CEO who profits off human suffering.

They know how this works: wait a week for everyone to move on to the next thing. The only thing that has even slightly managed to defy this pattern is the epstein list, and even then it’s still too early to tell.

But if you or I get caught celebrating the death of right-wing influencers then we risk not only losing our jobs but also the weight of the federal government crashing down on us.
