    Honestly, at this point it feels like there’s two options.

    A. There are members of the Secret Service who understandably do not want to let a fascist install a dictatorship in the U.S. and are kinda phoning it in.

    B. He’s replaced all of his Secret Service with incompetent sycophants and this is what it looks like when they’re really trying.

      It takes a lot of work and dedication to become Secret Service, I don’t think many of them are outright incompetent.

      I think it’s A mixed with C: they’re overworked and tired. It’s probably pretty fuckin stressful to be on guard for a president like this whether they agree with him or not

      A golf course and an open-air rally are both security nightmares. Just think of the perimeter of a golf course you would need to secure, plus all of that land area with foliage. It’s a private club, but members and guests are free to come and go. The Secret Service probably advised him against these things.

    of all the things, trump is quite afraid to be around guns and germs and alcohol. almost every other republican president /or candidate has used one before.
