A lot of people on lemie don’t seem to understand that you can ask stupid questions to Google instead of other humans. Furthermore, they didn’t even ask a real question. They made a false assertion either out of intentional ignorance and laziness or malicious intent.
Maybe you and I have a different standard of reasonableness, but to me “Why can’t the US do X?” Is perfectly reasonable.
If I were to talk about the fact that government-mandated occupational health and safety standards are impossible to do in Sweden, an American or Canadian might be very confused. Why would “Why can’t that be done in Sweden?” be unreasonable? Bonus points if you can tell me why.
Some people don’t know things, and asking questions is how you find out.
It’s not an unreasonable question if you live in a country with mandatory government-issued ID, like most do, which you then use to vote.
