Lemmy Killmeister made it to 70! How the hell did that happen?

Not to mention Keith Richards is still alive and playing music at 79.

Also, Willie Nelson is 90 and Tommy Chong is 85, which suggests that some “dangerous” drugs aren’t as dangerous as they’re made out to be.

And then there’s Snoop. Snoop will never die. I will hear no arguments against this objective fact.

Even though the genres of his music and mine were vastly different, he had an incredible impact on me as a musician as well as on how I learned to write song lyrics. Having met him briefly, I realised why he was such a legend. He will be missed dearly, but his amazing influence on music will live on.

May he find where those streams of whiskey are flowin’ as soon as possible wherever he is now.

Fairytale of New York is getting a lot of well deserved attention, but the fact remains that Shane is responsible for a fair share of the most beautiful songs ever written.

A Rainy Night in Soho is one amazing example of his songwriting.

And remember, death is not the end.

He claimed to have been drunk since he was 14. How he lived as long as he did is one of life’s mysteries.

I think my favorite post-life blessing from that part of the globe goes along the lines of “May the lord take you before the devil knows you’re dead.”
