I’ve been toying with expanding a short serial I wrote a few years ago, and had an idea how I could tie all the plot points together nicely. So I charged up my freewrite and am going to see what I can get done during vacation next weekend!
I’ve been working on an epistolary horror novel told in the form of letters. I was worried about it at first but It’s been pretty fun and interesting to use this format!
@Mickey @Deyis I think this can work great if you have the skill. I clearly do not. There‘s a short story I rewrote from scratch 3 times. The story is told in emails, chat logs, letters, court records, etc. It always ends up sounding like crap. For dialogues, we have evolved little tricks and cheats to make it sound natural, yet be efficient. But to do that in other media, you are kind of on your own.
I’m new here. I’ve sat on short stories and some other works for too long. I’ve been writing a children’s adventure story which started as a gift to my kid. I finished rewriting it and completed a first draft that I’m going to table and come back to re-read.
In the interim, I started writing a sci-fi novella based on academics facing authoritarian takeover and punishment. Something I sadly know a little about.
