Canada conservatives, and in particular Alberta conservatives, aren’t that different from American “conservatives”, they’re just kept on a slightly tighter leash. Though the Liberal government is doing what liberals do and turning the ratchet. The last election sacrificed the left (NDP) to prevent Peepee le-Fascist from taking over.

tbf the ndp was downhill since Jagmeet Signh took power, so I’m hopeful they’ll bounce back with a better new leader.

Jagmeet became leader specifically because of his charisma and people skills, which were frequently put on display as he dealt with bigots and confused, scared people in his community forums. Perhaps it doesn’t appeal to everyone but I find him extremely principled, attractive, and charismatic.

Sadly it’s part of a larger effort by the provincial government to undo any attempts at decarbonization.

We need more bike lanes and pathways. Not less.

Also the current provincial government can go pound sand.
