    One time, I was smoking a cigarette in my car, outside of my house. A cop pulled up behind me and blasted their lights. They asked me a ton of questions, most of which I refused to answer. I gave them ID which had my FUCKING address, and they still said, “You ain’t from around here are you?”. Mother fucker, you don’t even live in this zipcode. You are at MY address. It was a Pacific beach surfing sticker and a Bernie sticker. They also told me to take them off. They went off in a pout, and the deputy told me they were just training the newbie. To what, profile people?

    This is an example of resistance as culture. It might be a small act but it demonstrates the point.

    I think that’s something that could work. Things like fashion to mess with facial recognition. Movies or tasks to mess with our algorithms. Distracting facsists with a flag. Culturally, capitalism feeds on the creativity of leftists type people and always has done. We can’t feed it anti-capitalism because that just feeds it. So, we have to make fucking with the machine the culture itself and offer something they never can: warmth, community and authenticity.

      It’s the little things that really add up.

      • add a Mexican flag to your vehicle

      • cover your face with a wide brimmed hat and mask

      • wear t-shirts with faces of Mexican people on it to mess with facial recognition

      • telephone the ice hotline and report illegals hanging out at a local business, give them the address of a police station or ® senators office

      • film every interaction you see and upload it to social media

      • follow ICE vehicles back to their depots, then follow the agents home and make a note of their address

      • send printed covertly taken photos of their spouses, parents, and children along with a boxcutter to their office

      Just little things we can do as a community.

      An American friend that lives here in Germany sent our city’s flag to her parents. They put it up in their front yard to mess with their racist neighbors. When they got mad they just innocently said “Well, that’s just a souvenir from our daughter.”

    All fun and games until they throw her in a cage. I hate to break it to you, when ICE is kidnapping people, they aren’t checking your documents first. They’re just disappearing you to the back of the van. If they happen to get a few citizens too, well that’s just collateral damage.

    One can hope it would result in a massive lawsuit, public outrage, and change. My bet is that it doesn’t even make headlines, Faux News slanders the woman for being an “immigrant sympathizer” and the Trump administration tries to strip her citizenship for aiding and abetting enemies of the state (you know Jesus who pays his taxes and picks fruit seasonally in Arizona).

    I’m a white hotel towel Mexican

    Always thought it was strange to mark “White, Hispanic” on everything because that was an option always growing up. Like you all really do need to know my skin color don’t you.

    If you didn’t know my last name you’d never guess I wasn’t “American”

      If I recall correctly, it’s actually a throw back to the American Mexican war, when the war ended one of the terms of the treaty was that Hispanics would legally be white, and thus safe from things like slavery. So later when the government census wanted to know they invented “white, Hispanic”.

      I get told all the time I’m not Hispanic because I’m white.

      Its not my fault a white Brit knocked up my Costa Rican grandma. And my grandma certainly cultured me while she was alive.

      So I just say I’m a white Hispanic to clear the confusion.

        I’m half Mexican half Finnish. Strange mix. Pure white.

        I understand the hardship

        Random people do not think my father is my father.

        I’ve been stopped multiple times by police walking with him to make sure I was okay when I was a kid. All good, just walking around the neighborhood with my dad lol.

        Edit: It’s also funny growing up people asking me who our gardener was. Also my dad.

    Use flags of fictional countries and say that you are a fantasy buff.
