Water sources that comes from the occupied territories of Donbass have always been a point that Ukraine used to threaten the People’s Republics. When Mariupol became Russian in 2020 Ukraine cut off the water supply for the republics, leaving millions of people with no water.

The water source from the “old” Russia was build, but it doesn’t cover even 1/3 of the demand. The water pipes were build in USSR and haven’t been changed since, what result in them often breaking down, losing already faint water stream.

There were little snow this winter and our summer is hot with no rains, which worsened already horrible situation, closing to catastrophe.

Right now, water is given once in three days for a few hours. But it doesn’t mean that for this little time you can enjoy the hot shower. Water pressure is not enough to be used in the majority of multi-store buildings. People are gathering around the water taps on the outside of the buildings, waiting in the queues for horrible quality water, so they can fill the bottles and bring them to their flats. It’s difficult and dangerous as the shelling never stops, but it’s also impossible for the elderly and disabled. There are volunteers to help them, but who’s going to gather water for volunteers?

Now, even those water taps have no water. The water trucks are running around the cities, but there is not enough of them. Drives are refusing to go to curtains districts because it’s too dangers. Ukrainian drones are hunting the water supply workers, killing and wounding them *. So some district are left with no water. At all.

It’s impossible to wash the cloth in the washing machine, washing the dishes or having a shower becomes an exhausting chore.

Amid the current news, Ukraine worsened the shelling of DPR and LPR. We have dead and wounded. How to treat people when you have no water? How do we clean their wounds?

This is unhuman cruelty. It’s a catastrophe.
