Hi Y’all!

So first of this is my fourth attempt at getting into a souls like. Previously have given a go at Elden Ring, Sekiro and Demon Souls, but always bailed or rage quit.

But I just got my hands on Lies of P and recently reached the rabbit siblings and have been dying, replaying and dying, but also progressing.

So I am confused, because I read people say Lies of P is like super punishing and difficult. So does it ramp up at some point or is people just overselling it?

Yes, that is why I made the post, because I heard from several places that is should be like super punishing and one of the most difficult souls like - which isn’t why I wanted to try it, I just really loved the setting and atmosphere - but I just don’t find it super difficult.

And it’s not like I’m trying to humble brag, I got my ass handed to me in Elden Ring, Sekiro and Demons Souls. So I by no means consider myself a good player at all. Maybe there is just something with the combat that clicks with me in this one.

But I’m not complaining! I am super stoked that I am on the verge of actually finishing a soulslike. I had completely written off the genre.

Okay, now I get it - had already forgotten what your OP was even about at this point :D

Honestly, you can brag about it - nothing wrong with that. It’s definitely something to feel proud about, I’d say. As long as you’re not being a dick about it, which you very much aren’t. Awesome that you feel so at home with this one.

That’s awesome too. That’s why I’m such a huge advocate for difficulty settings too. If for whatever reason the default difficulty doesn’t work for a player, they can lower it and find enjoyment out of the game without being artificially gated from the experience because of some arbitrary difficulty.
