I loved this episode. South Park pissed me off when they used kid gloves to mock Trump in his first term, but they’re redeeming themselves in my eyes. This is the first time I’ve looked forward to seeing an episode in over ten years.

Apparently they had both endings ready, pending the election results, but they didn’t expect Trump to win. Then they had to just roll with it going forward. It’s hard to make satire of something that already feels like a satire in real life.

Nah, that was a lame excuse. They’ve had no problem excoriating celebrities for doing minor dumb stuff, but they don’t even try to really tear into neo Hitler? This feels like a correction of a past wrong.

What was the past wrong you are referring to? They spent entire seasons mocking Trump. I’m not sure that any of their satire targets got that many episodes dedicated to them.

With all the drama around Colbert, it was hard to ignore. I was hearing about it long before Trump tuned in.

Much more curious to see how Paramount execs respond, since the Skydance merger is what’s driving their servile behavior.

Same or similar as back in the day. Some use private servers and some have automated stuff to grab new stuff to automatically, populate their self hosted streaming server with it to have their own curated netflix with any shows and movies from any source they desire and none of the filler.

I’m not too savvy with the torrenting unfortunately. I pay $20 a year to a somewhat sketchy website but so far has been decently reliable and allows me to just stream whatever I want from whatever service (Netflix, apple, Hulu, etc) in one central web browser / mobile app without needing to download anything.

Stremio w/plugins is what you want these days (start with Torrentio and Real-Debrid; plugins are installed from within the Stremio app).

Direct streams to your TV/phone/PC, no need to transfer files or mess with torrent clients (which means you don’t need a VPN). Just press Play and enjoy.

It is also home theater friendly if you’re into that. Supports all the major video and audio formats, including HDR and Dolby Atmos.

Edit: I’m confused by the downvote. To whoever did that: don’t just hit and run; tell me why you downvoted. Do you know of a better, more convenient alternative to Stremio? I’d love to hear about it.

*arr stack with Jellyfin is great if you have some sort of server, Pi, NUC etc and don’t mind setting it up. Large USB HDD to that will suffice for most people build it out more if ya need. Pi4 with a 14tb powered usb external works great.

Lacking hardware or not wanting the setup I’d go stremio as others have suggested it’s about as easy as it gets. Leagues ahead of the old Kodi with add-ons days where you’d have to pick 20+ streams before you got a good one lol

This thing has been viewed a ton more on the high seas due to the fact that nobody wants to support Pee Sky Plus anymore.

My educated guess (not including the free snippets they ran on cable shows and posted their own yt) is that close to 50 mil have seen the entire clip. Probably twice that have seen the crucial snippets of it at least once.

Trey and Matt already got paid anyway.

One would think that someone in the White House would say, “Yeah, not going to dignify this with a response.” And don’t say that much unless directly asked!

This whole clusterfuck is down to Trump being an angry toddler. Any other man would have had the sense to STFU about a cartoon show. Nope! Not our boy! Gotta fight back against a cartoon show.

Only hope I hold for our country is that he’ll croak soon enough and the backlash will be game changing. “Trump’s a symptom not the disease!” Meh, kinda. He’s also an irreplaceable cult leader. Once he’s dead, MAGA will splinter into 100 factions casting blame, eat themselves. And then the Democrats will swoop in and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat! (Puked in my mouth writing that last, BRB, gotta brush.)

The media companies have been run by right wing shit brains since forever. In the past, they generally let the writers do whatever they want as long as the money keeps flowing.

That may be changing. Not clear yet.

Not sure that’s entirely true… It’s definitely something to be cognizant of, but empowering your base and shitting on Nazis is well worth the price of admission, here.

Plus, a LOT more people saw it than 6 million. I’m betting that number is going to be in the billions, especially so since Trump is shitting his pants even more over it, a la Streisand Effect.

Trump is a serial child rapist and all over the Epstein files.

Not optimistic. I know it’s a big jump in numbers from what conservative legacy media put out, but bear with me.

American politics are a spectacle because of stuff like this. Eventually, a really good portion of the internet connected population of the world is going to hear about this and are going to be curious. Like maybe 10-50%. And if Trump actually sues for a cartoon saying he has a tiny penis but airing a real life AI video of him naked in the desert and “showing” it, that number is going to go up and possibly break out of online media.

6 million people watched it upon initial airing on cable on that timeslot. The population of the usa is like 340 million. If you halve that for age and demographics, that’s still like 170 million people in the usa alone.

Now, I’d be willing to bet that in the usa, the number who have already seen the clip is closer to 170M than it is 6M, and is only going higher. Start including Canada, Mexico, parts of Europe, Japan, NZ, and anybody else that remotely pays attention to the most ridiculous parts of US politics, and the pool of possible people has grown far beyond the 340M population of the USA and that initial 6M estimate put out by legacy media, who undoubtedly and demonstrably has a conflict of interest and is conservative owned.

The only real way to remotely know would be to start doing surveys, but that would absolutely affect the number. “Do you know about the South Park episode clip where they say he has a teeny tiny penis and aired a clip using AI that showed him wandering through the desert naked and even showed his penis and that now Donald Trump wants to sue them for defamation?” 😂😂😂😂

If they didn’t know, imagine their reaction and immediate curiosity. It’s ridiculous.

Anyway, I do think that eventually, especially if Trump actually sues them, that the exposure numbers, either through watching the clip or meme form, could get over a billion. Because remember, the population of the world right now is like 8 to 8.2Billion people, and a good portion of that is internet connected. You can extrapolate from there.

Optimistic would be “everyone internet connected will hear about this”. And while maybe that would be eventually possible if no scandals ever again happen and everybody suddenly had no other problems and cared about us politics, but that just can’t be the case and isn’t reality. But it’s also extreme to underestimate how fast these things move and how easily people see and show each other them and search them out. The MSNBC YouTube video covering it alone already has like 4 million views.

I have mixed feelings on this episode.

Although I like the presentation of Trump as a near clone of the Saddam Hussein character of South Park’s heyday and pointing out the gross control of media outlets, I have a hard time with the massive amount of slur usage.

I understand that the hyperbolic usage of the slurs and other offensive language in this episode is intentional and is calling out how backwards it is, but when you’ve had the f-slur violently thrown at you in situations where you’ve felt unsafe, it sure hits differently to have it carelessly bandied about like its still the 20th century.

The idea behind using the word “faggot” was to illustrate how political correctness has been destroyed by Trump. The episode is a wake-the-fuck-up call.

The consequence of all trumps “anti-woke” (asshole) rhetoric, is that something as shockingly backwards as saying “faggot” has become normalised (and Jesus is back in school lol).

If the usage of slurs in this episode pisses you off, then good. It means your dickhead-detector is calibrated properly. (Trey and Matt aren’t the dickheads btw)

Now, if you were in South Park, who would you blame for this? The answer is Trump.

Trump has normalised people saying “faggot” and “retard” because that’s his legacy. Not helping anyone, only himself, by appealing to the anti-woke dickheads, and convincing his base this matters more than improving the lives of the people he was sworn to help.

Trey and Matt don’t just fire off slurs like that for kicks. They’re trying to shock you into thinking about how the pieces fit.

I mean at least they’re forcing folks to see the kind of hate that the ignorant want to be able to say, without being judged, for being the bigots they absolutely are. The folks who are okay with the country being destroyed are okay with just absolutely dehumanizing and it’s ugly to see, don’t let them hide.
