I still find it insane that a Jedi could die from a fall out of a window. Just use the force on yourself to stop your fall. You’re supposed to be a master!
I think most people would have trouble concentrating after having their hands chopped off by a student (of sorts) and a couple colleagues killed while fighting an entity they hadn’t had to deal with in centuries. That said there are some books that do keep him alive.
