I live in San Francisco where Newsom was mayor before he became governor.

Newsom makes himself a lightning rod for all the right wing hatred, and he’s almost everything that they hate: San Francisco/California liberal, and young looking.

And then there’s his greaser hairdo…

The only thing missing is he’s not a black woman. (Helloooo Kamala!)

Oddly enough, I think he’s keeping a low profile as governor, and Lt. governor before that, compared to when he was mayor.

He pops up every now and then to throw barbs at Trump, DeSantis and other MAGA Republicans, but as far as touting his own accomplishments, he’s been very quiet, or maybe he just gets drowned out by the daily torrent of Trump vomit.

He was facing impeachment because of SA and some other stuff iirc, he only stayed because the runner up was a grade A asshat, dude went around cali with a circus bear trying to seems macho.

So is gavin good, no, not really alot of hate on him and alot justified. But he is the best we seem to be getting and he knows to throw just enough bones so he isn’t hated too much. He has been passing a few good things…

I think he’s actually making a comeback, rising to the occasion and all but, he was pissing off a lot of folks seemingly capitulating to fascism just prior to that. Many were upset he’s doing podcasts with right wing extremists and his rhetoric on trans issues is way off. I do appreciate it when he and our other California leaders speak up and challenge the fascism directly and courageously. We’re just not seeing any action from the Dems in general and that’s unacceptable.
