“Fan-fiction” as in this exact exchange probably didn’t happen.

Because I don’t believe Donald Trump would commit to memory anyone else’s exact words; that would imply he was ever really listening to other people instead calculating the next time he could diarrhea from his mouth in foul mockery of conversation.

Thank you. Have my upvote. But it alarms me that my simple comment asking for evidence received so many downvotes. Even if we despise the cretin in chief we still have to ask for evidence.

What’s alarming about that? One of the most common troll behaviors is jaqing off, pretending not to have an agenda when you do.

Regardless, the comment isn’t even in the negatives, so for as many down voted more upvoted.

Not to mention that this has been the biggest story this week. You’d have to be living under a rock then just showed up to this thread to have only heard about this from this meme. Then their reaction, instead of thinking “hey this seems to be a popular topic let me punch it into a search engine to learn more, I have been out of the loop this week after all” is “well I may not have been paying attention to anything this week, but I’ve never heard of this so the burden of proof is on everyone else to prove it to me”

People blindly trusting an image with no citation to a legitimate source is a plague on our society. Thank you for being skeptical and asking.

I didn’t downvote, but I can assume the reason is that other sources like the one you just affirmed had already been posted in this thread by the time you asked. It was likely interpreted as disingenuous.

It’s a bit of group think. I noticed in on Reddit and on Lemmy it’s the same. You easily downvote someone if they’re already very low and the statement is not welcome in the current context.

Some of my reddit posts why <-200 are the ones I’m most proud of, e.g. one where I stood against torture and death sentence, even in the context of a child rapist.

Probably many people just thought you were “just asking” to spread doubts instead of… actually wanting to know a source. Don’t think about it too much :)

The description of the card in wall street journal was so detailed, that most likely this is just mockup what it probably looks like.

Trump denies this heavily, so it is probably authentic.

That’s why fascists want to cut funding for the humanities and push the idea that art degrees are useless.

The WSJ first broke the story on Thursday. However, it didn’t include an image of the card, only the text and a description. From all the sources I’ve seen, the original image has not been released. It is possible that someone only leaked a written report to the WSJ and they dont even have a photo of it. I suspect all these photos are fake, but since Trump will likely sue for defamation, I don’t believe this story would have been published without a high certainty of the text’s authenticity.

It’s a birthday card, it’s been tossed decades ago. This is a mockup from a first hand memory of the card.

That’s not what is being reported.

Maxwell collected letters from Trump and dozens of Epstein’s other associates for a 2003 birthday album, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The letter bearing Trump’s name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy—like others in the album.

In matches the description of what I think it was the New York Post put out. I don’t think they released an image of it, at least not when I first saw it. This could be someone’s recreation based off the description possibly. Idk.

There’s another version of the image floating around, it’s slightly different. At least one of them must be fake.

According to the WSJ, it is signed only “Donald” and the signature implies pubic hair. The OPs version matches that, yours does not.

I don’t think the article said it’s left aligned. I don’t know why they both went for that. I would do center aligned, and then you get two curves, which could fit the shape of a woman. Maybe Trump isn’t creative enough to figure that out, but that’s I would would expect it to be.

They didn’t mention that the figure of the naked woman and the signature were made in thick-ass sharpie. What’s to even doubt about the authenticity now? Confirmed legitimate, case closed.
