Friday 18: 13:10 → 17:05–17:30

Between the two mountain stages is a mountain Time Trial, climbing most of the road to the Peyresourde Pass, before turning towards the finish on the 15% slope of the runway of the “James Bond” altiport of the Peyresourde ski resort.

I add a link to the PCS profile because the official one doesn’t look like they will be climbing a mountain pass https://www.procyclingstats.com/race/tour-de-france/2025/stage-13/info/profiles 😀

Evenepoel took a TT bike but basically never used the areobars. That’s the worst possible idea: carrying those things for nothing, and spending all the time on the shitty lower bar that is only meant to be used less than 10% of the time.

Good performance by Roglitch. I am just a bit disappointed that he didn’t show up wearing a floral speedo.

Roglic must have felt extra motivated after Lipowitz pulled away from him in the GC yesterday. Interesting dynamics in that team where their two strongest riders just seem to be riding for themselves rather than cooperating.

I agree about Remco. And, in fact, Roglic was using them all the time. I believe that is a strength thing. It has to be difficult to climb in that position, and if you are not strong enough, you are likely to be less comfortable.

The very strange thing is that Evenepoel is supposed to be super strong at staying forever on a TT bike in perfect aero position. It made it even more surprising to see others on the aerobars most of the time but not him, when one would have expected the opposite.

He didn’t seem to even try to get on the aerobars, alternating between positions when one position became awkward. It looked like a pre-established choice.
