@main I can’t find my lemmy account from on mastodon. is federation turned off?

    Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using an URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !main@lemmy.ca

    I believe Lemmy doesn’t federate users directly, the communities are the users. If on your mastodon instance you search for @main@lemmy.ca you can open that profile to see the posts in here.

    (edited for clarity: you use @main@lemmy.ca instead of !main@lemmy.ca because communities are federated as users.)
