@rumimevlevi The whole ‘ancestral right’ argument is self-serving hooey, even though many people believe it (though I often wonder how much). The Levant is the first place our prehistoric ancestors came through after leaving Africa 60-70 kya, and have been living there – and fighting over it – ever since. Semitic peoples came along perhaps 50 ky later. It’s ludicrous for anyone alive now or even in the last 5 ky to claim any ancestral right to that area.
I completely agree with you. I’m just saying that the biggest issue in the conflict and Israel occupation of Palestine is not simply religious extremism. I heard more people using the ancestry argument than the religious argument
