So I downloaded Dodi’s Sekiro repack and installed it through bottles, but the game does not launch.

Also tried adding the exe file to Heroic, gave me the same result as Bottles.

On windows, I remember this exact repack working perfectly. So maybe they way I installed it in Linux is causing the issue ?

Here’s what I do with Dodi an FitGirl repacks:

    1. Install wine, its dependencies, and Steam. I use Fedora, so I installed Steam using rpm-fusion’s non-free repository.
    2. Double click on the installer and install the game normally in a folder.
    3. Launch Steam and add a non-steam game. I select the .exe file used to launch the game.
    4. Right-click on the non-steam game and change its preferences to use Proton.
    5. Launch the game.

There is this guide available for fitgirl and dodi repacks. Haven’t tried for dodi but fitgirl works for me, but process is pretty much same. Have fun

I’ve had no issues using Lutris. When I add a game, I go through the Lutris menu and choose the Windows installer exe option (not at my computer, I can’t remember the exact name.) I know I’ve done Fitgirl repacks, I think I’ve done a Dodi one.

Have you tried launching it with logging in a terminal in bottles? It can often tell you if its missing something that it needs to launch.

Looking at SteamDB, it looks like it checks VC2015 is installed. So you’ll want to check if your bottle has at least one of: vcrun2015, vcrun2017, vcrun2019 or vcrun2022. It’s pretty likely that’s a required dependancy.

It also installs “DirectX Jun 2010 Redist” which installs or updates a bunch of libraries, I think most if not all of these can be installed to your bottle too. I don’t know which are required but it’s a place to start.

There’s a lot of good advice in here. If shit hits the fan and nothing else works, you can install the repack in a Windows VM, copy the install directory to the host, and add the exe to Bottles. Easy money

All depenfencies installed? What wine version is used? I prefer the newest Wine-Ge, but some games only work with 7.

What are the dependencies? I always have trouble figuring those out. It could be any obscure combination of stuff to install, with specific versions. Yeah bottles makes it easy to install them but what’s the use of you don’t know which.

I installed all fonts manually and with the autoinstaller b.net, eaplay, epic store and ubisoft connect and their dependencies as well.

If not sure, or steamdb info isn’t enough. Just install everything… Not the best solution, I know, but better than install one, test and repeat…

Usually all vcredis and .net are OK to install.

Sometimes I find Dodi working and fitgirl not working, sometimes neither works, sometimes both work. I usually get issues related to unarc.dll and similar. I haven’t done repacks (or much gaming for that matter) for weeks now, so I don’t know.
