White people have some really bad names. Only a white woman would name her kid khaleesi.

Guy I know worked ers. Kid named Nosmo. The mother looked up, saw the no smoking sign, said that sounds good.

As far as names go it’s better than the white ones lmao.

I think this exact string was a plot point in Ramona and her father by Beverly Cleary. Ramona intended to create a “NO SMOKING” sign, but paper dimension limitations caused the sign to read “NOSMO KING”.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramona_and_Her_Father

It sounds like a pretty good book, with some real themes dealing with unemployment and the stress that has on the whole family.

I did find this bit a little funny:

Ramona grows concerned about her father’s smoking habit and works with Beezus to leave messages all over the house.

who the hell is Beezus lmfao

Beatrice “Beezus” Quimby is Ramona’s elder sister. IIRC, she got her nickname because Ramona had difficulty pronouncing “Beatrice” when she was little.

It’s fairly common for parents to name their children based on the day they were born, like naming them after the saint that day represents.

I met a guy who’s name was the equivalent to “nat-hol” because he was born on the local national holiday and that’s what it showed on the calendar for that day.
