Interesting analysis of the depictions of various fictional women and the writers behind them
Kyle! :D
Been a Doormonster fan since they had the questionable channel name (lol). Kyle tells it like it is, as both a writer and a feminist. A lot of people balk at hearing cis dudes criticize bad female character writing because “how could they really understand,” but Kyle even acknowledges that (the answer is have literally more than 0 empathy lol)
at the very least I’m one gal who can vouch for Kyle’s understanding here. he gets it. good on him.
Just randomly got this recommended today. Really enjoyed it and now I have a new channel to binge through :D
welcome to the Door Monster club we have 1 joke but plenty of fun
(the 1 joke is that Kyle never sleeps)
I think the writer Wally Lamb writes women characters well.
I really enjoyed this video essay. I thought the perspective on the motivations of the different authorses worthwhile. I’m not sure how you select a movie director before they’ve demonstrated it in multiple films. But it does mean you’re not going to get something new from somebody who’s got to demonstrate a pattern.
