As a film it’s ok, but as a think piece it’s excellent.
A group of prisoners are kept in a vertical jail with food being distributed every day by a elevator in the middle. Lots of discussion of survival sharing resources.
I really like this film, I would recommend anyone watch it. Obvio
communism themes
There’s no ignoring the fact that the film principally revolves around the distribution of resources. And this conflict that creates. People are often comparing the top of the jail to capitalism, but I think it’s a better allegory for communism. All resources are concentrated, and their distributed from the top to the bottom, and it’s up to everybody to only take their fair share.
Of course humans are humans, and they’re compelled, encouraged, enticed to take more than they absolutely need.
I think it speaks to the nascent corruption in any bureaucracy. It’s a good think piece
