I’m always a bit miffed about the use of the word ‘culture’ in this debate. I know it’s a cultural phenomenon, but in the end it’s an economical construct.

No one was calling the little kids that had to fish cotton out from between the running gears of mechanical looms in the 19th century ‘culture’. It’s extortion, is what it is.
