      A blooming onion is typically a battered fried onion.

      Bloomin can be used in the same way you would use fucking, but is generally less vulgar

      “Blooming” is a minced curse version of “bloody”, which was considered pretty vulgar for quite a while (I remember a boy I knew being scolded for using it in the early '90s). These days it’s an intensifier but wouldn’t be censored. Probably wouldn’t appear in a picture book for young children but wouldn’t be out of place in a novel aimed at children.

      Guessing the U.K. didn’t have this so it’s just a blooming onion.
