Now, teams of government scientists are reporting widespread coral death, which they say is the worst bleaching to hit the state. There are still areas of live coral, and some bleached coral will recover, but as scientists gather data, the scale of mortality has left many shocked.

    What’s the point of this comment? Do you feel better having made it?

    PS: Sometimes I’m mystified by humanity. The votes don’t lie. People actually enjoy reading empty doomsterism. Maybe some of you are even subscribed here to get your daily fix. Call me crazy but personally I find there’s quite enough doom in life as it is and when I come here I’d prefer to read comments that actually add some value and even (gasp!) suggest solutions.
