Don’t take this too seriously. If we can’t laugh at each other’s ‘weirdness’ and find commonality with each other, then we have more serious issues to attend to.
This guy started out with fairly innocent parodies (I think), but he ended up falling down the alt-right pipeline, and is now a hard right christian. Any of his newer stuff is done to harm who he’s mocking, it is no longer good faith parody.
He doesn’t mean it in a “this is what it would look like if non marginalized groups do it” way. He 100% means it as “this is what pride marches are like but we can’t call out queer people so I’m flipping the script”. It’s in bad taste is what I’m getting at. His jokes are based around harmful stereotypes rather than actual quirks of the community.
Yes. Maybe we just live different lives but I’ve never encountered someone even closely similar to what he’s parodying.
