The UK and France will abandon previous plans to recognise a Palestinian state at an upcoming conference, according to diplomats.

The Guardian has reported that French officials briefed their Israeli counterparts this week that the conference would not be the moment for recognition.

Instead, it will now focus on outlining steps towards recognition, contingent on a series of measures and concessions from the Palestinians.

These will include a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of Israeli captives, reform of the Palestinian Authority, economic reconstruction and the end of Hamas rule in Gaza.

Concessions from the Palestinians, like what ? Make a little less noise when a bomb falls through your roof, or smile when you willingly give your house to Zionist settlers ?

Israel has money. Palestine does not.

When the choice is between lives and money, money always wins. Such is the society we’ve managed to build.

If you’re wondering, they used recognition as a threatening bargain piece with the US, which wants to maintain its authority with its “allies”.

Dunno what exactly Trump accepted for them to back down, but it took a month or two.

Macron was always going to cave. A quintessential centrist worm. The only thing he believes in is his hair style.
