It’s a cliche but my cats! They’re such simple creatures they just nap, scamper and snack. They’ll come over for cuddles and they’re just lovely

I just went for a walk and saw a bunch of teeny tiny frogs, and a little newt/salamander :)

I have a magical device that is a camera, map, compass, can capture images, audio, and video, is a pocket notebook, can contact anyone in the entire world, can also summon help as long as I’m close enough to civilization, and can read/listen/watch entertaining content.

And all this I can fit inside my pocket.

Literally not even an absolute monarch have this magic like a 100 years ago. This is so magical!

I work at a large downtown city hospital which is in a pretty gnarly part of the city, this morning walking in the cops were walking someone out of the ER in handcuffs and a gown and nothing else, and the other day I had to tell security to go get the passed out naked guy out of the bus stop out front, and last week some woman was yelling at the dietary staff because they wouldn’t give her a spoon to go out and do heroin with. But there are Saskatoon berry trees all over the puny lawns and I can eat a handful in the morning if I get there before the starlings do, and somehow just the sight of the place when I walk in is beautiful every day, when in icy winter. It exemplifies everything about my city for me and why I love it, warts and all. It’s always full of people flowing around the hallways in a constant stream and it feels so alive.

Cries of my neighbor’s kids. I hate them all so much that when I hear an indication of their suffering, no matter how small, I smile.
