What are the chances that one of the first 50 or so people had some kind of STD and this is just a mass-spreader event? What are the chances that she now has permanently damaged her health?

I’m fine with sex between consenting adults as long as it happens safely. I just don’t see how this could possibly have been safe. And even if (and that’s a big “if”) all of the participants got tested beforehand, what are the chances that the next person “inspired by” her will also do this safely?

Typically professionals do ensure all their partners are tested beforehand.

what are the chances that the next person “inspired by” her will also do this safely?

Puritanical hand wringing. Tons of people have unsafe sex every day. If you want to lower STI spread, create public awareness campaigns and improve sex ed for students.

I hope you’re right about the testing. Wish it said in the article. Also more sex ed is always a good idea.

Sadly I don’t think you’re wrong about the puritanical bit. I didn’t think I was but the idea of this many sexual partners in this short a time does make me uncomfortable. Definitely gave me something to think about and maybe uncovered some bias worth working on.

I love the euphemism that she “slept with” 583 guys. I mean that’s a lotta naps in 6 hours! Takes me at least 20 minutes to drift off.

OnlyFans star Annie Knight is sharing an update amid her recent hospitalization after sleeping with 583 men in six hours.

It’s bizarre that US uses “sleeping with” to mean “had sex with”. Readers clearly understand, she uses the word “sex” in her quotes, but the magazine/site insists on using that bizarre euphemism.

I don’t think that that’s very uncommon. When one “goes to the bathroom”, it’s understood that this is a euphemism for urinating or dedicating, not just hanging out there.

Agreed. It just seems like a weird editorial decision. Maybe it’s because I’m not a regular US reader, or I live in a different country, but it seems to slightly obfuscate what happened.

You’re looking way too deep into it. “Sleeping with someone” is such a common expression that nobody can possibly hope to obfuscate anything with it. Everybody knows they fucked. There will be no mistakes, no confusion. Besides, it’s not unusual for different contexts to use different phrases and expressions for the same thing. The press using a “softer” language is not a uniquely American thing by a long shot and it’s kinda weird to assume it would be.

          Not an American either btw.

Like, let’s just do it.’ They’re just having some fun. I think the people that are hating [are] probably just jealous, and their lives are really boring …I mean, the more they hate on me, the more views I get, and the more money I make.”

No, your inability to form a coherent thought was just easy to target. What I really don’t like about you is that you apparently don’t see women as independent human beings with their own thoughts and goals.

I am. And the very sad conclusion I’m forced to draw is that most people don’t care enough about others to prevent unnecessary and easily preventable suffering.

            Like the case at hand.

The woman ended in a hospital. Maybe - just maybe! - the men participating in the stunt should had stopped for a fraction of a second to think if they were enabling and causing unnecessary suffering.

            Maybe.

            I might be wrong.

People are into some weird shit, some of it is dangerous and/or disgusting. They were all consenting adults and it’s wrong to use violence to coerce them into behaving in ways that are less offensive to our sensibilities.

Just because it’s legal, doesn’t make correct.

The same way, many of the dangerous and/or disgusting things some individuals are into are considered a disturb.

Following that, and remembering the spirit of my original reply, that by now has been removed, I would strongly - very strongly - disincentivize any friend or acquaintance if they told me they considered either taking part or were indifferent to the outcome of such a stunt. It would be one of those friendship ending situation.

This is a calous indiference to human suffering and an easily preventable and avoidable one. And exploitation of it. Which is extremely sad. It is a telling sign of the times we live in.

I’m not defending it on the basis of it being legal, I don’t think that’s relevant here. It’s enough that everyone involved was an adult and gave their willing consent.

People do things that cause them to suffer all the time, often in the pursuit of pleasure. We have neither the realistic means nor the moral authority to protect them from the consequences of their bad choices.

I’m not going to try and tell you that I wouldn’t judge everyone involved for choosing to live their lives this way, because I definitely would, but coercing them with violence into making different choices would likely do little to to prevent the original harm and only add more on top of it.

No? The quickest I block a guy is when they offer me money. I don’t have an OF and don’t want one. (If I took money, I’d feel pressured into doing things that I don’t like.)

If I want clicks, it’s for my own… interests.
