I come from Germany. Many people here say they are ‘Berliner’ or ‘Bavarians’. With you having a background in three of the largest country’s in the world do you ever call yourself something similar like Shenyang-Baical-Philadelphian? (sorry for my limited geography knowledge. I only want to give an example for what the structure might look like) Or do you know people who would? With country’s that big I could imagine that the connection to the region is much stronger than that to the country since I’d imagine the greater the distance between people the differences.
