i am russian. i moved here as a child at like 10 years. i currently live in united states but my mom and i miss russia.

we want to go back for visiting but i don’t know how safe it would be.

    You’d be at risk of getting involuntarily pressed into military service, or disappeared off to El Salvador.

    I get why you would want to return to see a place with special significance in your life. But honestly the rule of law means nothing there, and you would be at risk of becoming a geopolitical pawn. It would probably be fine, but there’s a small chance you would regret going for the rest of your life.

    I personally would never take that chance.
