It is not really the opposite, the “don’t tread on me”-pissflag is from a slave trader, the US cops originate from slave catchers.
It was used against the British during the American Revolution. Saying it is the same as supporting police allows zero historical understanding or nuance. Everyone in America originated from the Revolution as all were affected.
