My husband and I got done by this guy once, he made my nose so big you could parasail with it. He will take y shot he can with a person, and making them look like a historical Jew Trope I think would be in bounds for him. His goal is to offend, he is good at achieving his goal.

I don’t get how caricatures have persisted: people pay and sit to have someone do Ren & Stimpy OCs of them. At best, it’ll look like an insult.

My dad thinks caricatures are funny, I get it. But he had one done for my 8yo~ sister (at the time) and it’s probably one of her worst memories and maybe the cause of insecurities.

But they are all so ugly.

I haven’t seen a single one that I thought was funny.

Assuming you mean, I have to take myself less seriously. I make fun of myself all the time. I am, by practice, one of the least serious people I know. I just don’t like the art and every caricature I’ve seen is in this style.

Do people actually like caricatures or is it just a thing that sticks around because they were famous, like clowns and mimes?

A well done caricature can be funny and cute. Unfortunately there are a lot of artists that, while good, can’t read the room. The trick seems to be not to overly pick on characteristics that will hurt, without balancing them out.

Oh and a good group of clowns can be excellent. I saw some at a circus, and they pulled off slapstick perfectly.

A mime once trapped me in an invisible box. I was trapped for days…

Maybe they hang it up in their bedroom to raise the difficulty settings on their sex life.

I got my caricature done once as a kid and I’m still recovering. If he’d done me up like this I’d never fuck again.

Hm… Would be cool if I could say some stuff is off-limits. I have a couple of prominent features, most of which I don’t mind, but some I have insecurities for. I’d love a caricature focussing on the former while ignoring the latter.

I’ve got one of me that was fun and not actually insulting, I worked at Disney across from a caricature art booth and one of the artists world draw nearby Cast Members when it was slow. Although I’m not sure where it is at the moment because it’s not actually hung on the wall.

A less bizarre one of a couple could be cute.

          10-20 minutes, if that.
The point of saying they do it all day should indicate they make them fast.

No, you said they do it daily, but didnt mention if they do 1 or 20 per day.

Your lack of clarity was not their fault in reading. Your follow-up (10-20 min, if that) could have been your initial response and actually answered their question. There’s no need to be rude to them for you answering a question they didn’t ask.

How was I rude to anyone? That person literally does not speak English as their first language.

Chill out and stop trying to prove people wrong all the time
