On February 8th, 1943, she was captured by the 7th SS Prinz Eugen Division. She was interrogated, tortured and beaten for 3 days, but refused to say anything. On February 11th, she was publically hanged.

    I always get misty-eyed when I see her picture or read about her. A true Hero, at such an unparalleled level that there are only a small handful that are worthy of being her peers. 17 years old. Such courage and force-of-will. At the same time, what limitless hatred and cruelty to do this to a child. But we shouldn’t dwell on that. She would want me to be inspired and to spend my life fighting the same fight. In her honor…
