Given it’s open source, others could self-host their own variants of it if they’d like a non-federated alternative to Reddit.

    Probably none. It’s not really known at the moment.

    I mean, why would anyone even want it when it won’t even federate with anyone or have basic features? I dislike the dev, especially when he shits on federation and ActivityPub whenever asked about.

    And the goddamn search literally still depends on google search.

      Federation isn’t always seen as a positive (see: discussions linked on fedibridge complaining, without realizing it sometimes, of certain instances’ people) for those aware of it, and for many more it’s just not even a factor they consider.

      But also bleh about the search, wasn’t aware of that.

        Discuit has less than 200 weekly commenters. Lemmy has more than 50k monthly active users.

        Trusting a single admin for a whole platform only brings you so far.
