Never been to the movies before?

I am Legend, the Dungeons & Dragons movie, Jurassic Park, Nope, IT part one are all movies off the top of my head I can remember at least three scenes the audience reacted to very audibly.

If a bunch of kids cheering that Jack Black said Chicken Jockey or talked about Crafting ruins a movie. Stay home man.

Imagine getting mad kids are in the aisle singing or dancing or swaying to Moana or Frozen or Coco. Like c’mon. No you’re not on the right side here.

I see from the downvotes that you apparently have a hot take, but i completely agree that people are overreacting (except for the instance of physical violence against a theater employee that I saw mentioned earlier in this thread, that is unacceptable).

When I was a teenager I went and saw the 5th Harry Potter movie, and when Dumbledore returned in that one big scene (idr the context), the entire theater stood up and clapped and yelled and whooped and screamed. Like we did a standing ovation mid movie. It was one of the best movie experiences I’ve ever had. No one agreed to it before hand, we just happened to be a rowdy crowd. Everyone. Not just the people i was with, I mean I’m sure some audience people were annoyed but most of them were participating organically.

This minecraft business reminds me of Rocky Horror Picture Show audience participation. I think a really REALLY easy solution is for theatres to designate “participation shows” and “watch shows” and let people choose which one they want to go to. Then no one can be upset if they go to a participation show and people are loud and messy.

I think there’s an entirely separate conversation to have regarding the wages of the theater workers who have to clean up the mess after. I’m not gonna touch that topic right now.

Be kind and have fun. Life is short. xx
