    In theory we can vote for whoever we want. In practice we can only elect whoever is backed by capital.

    Jesus Christ.

    Some people will do anything except face the fact that this is not a left-leaning electorate.

      You’re screaming into the wind trying to convince lemmy progressives they aren’t the silent majority.

      Fun fact, only about 12% of the Democratic base considers them self “progressive left”.

      This poll is a little outdated but I’d be surprised if there have been drastic changes in the numbers.

        No, no, you don’t understand, Bernie would’ve won if only he was MORE left. But if he did win, the DNC would’ve just canceled the primaries.

          Less about him not being left enough, and more him not fighting enough. He should have never shut up about how the Dems betrayed him and the people, and campaigned on that, instead of falling in line. I guess you could argue it being him not being left enough, but I kinda see it as he’s too old to have that same stubborn drive anymore.
