Saw this e-OS on French24 vid. Developer claims open source OS for smartphones. No privacy data transfer to Google or Apple, but privacy protection and a smooth experience. There was a 4 month cloudservice disruption, which has been fixed. Also, you can use other cloudsservices ofc, as it’s open.

Anyone good experience with this OS

    Tnx for this overview.

It’s hard to find any good info. TIL; GrapheneOs was founded by Daniel Micay, a Canadian. That’s pretty much European too.

To me, it’s about having “de-googling” smartphone OS options. As you seem to be more of an expert, how is safety/ privacy ranked between normal Google Android phones compared to any one of those other OS from that graph; so I undertand at what level were are talking about?

If your goal is to DeGoogle, GrapheneOS is by far the best option. The biggest hurdle is it’s only available for unlocked Pixels.

In terms of security, /e/ takes months to push security updates, leaving you exposed longer. Privacy? There’s practically none. If you don’t have security, you don’t have privacy.

So other than GrapheneOS, practically any version BESIDES /e/ is a better choice. They’re all far weaker by comparison, but /e/ is the worst of the bunch.
