It’s nice to see the senate opposition functioning.
Edit: 18 hours of holding the senate floor, giving voice to the american people. Lots of tears as american suffering is read out loud for the congressional record. Testiment from Americans across the country. This is the voice of the people. Please click the link, share and watch. The media needs to know we care about the opposition more than we care about trump rambling on a plane about fort knox.
So you don’t understand either, and are just assuming it’s the most effective way to go about it.

What if they’re doing it alone, in the middle of the night?
I’d hope you think that was strange at least.

One guy.
Alone.
In the middle of the night.
That would be very strange. Just like this guy speaking to an empty room in the middle of the night.
It’s nearly as strange, that you don’t think it’s strange at all.

I don’t say things without thinking them through.
You came up with the construction worker metaphor. Maybe you didn’t put any thought into that, I don’t know.
I asked about if construction worker was working alone in the middle of the night. Just like Booker is talking to an empty room in the middle of the night.
To me they both seem strange, and unlikely to be helping much.

An educated guess.
Even during a session, the room is mostly empty. They don’t bother listening to each others speeches most of the time. I’m sure nobody is bothering at 2am
Democrats have been demonstrating they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing to combat this fascist shut for decades now. The benefit of the doubt has passed.
Sure this was slightly better than rolling over, but this accomplished little

Think how much more we’d be talking about it if they did someone useful instead of performative for once…

I know it’s great pretending like the usual performative shit that Democrats have been doing for years will suddenly work this time, but telling people who’ve seen this same exact bullshit fail countless timeless to shuf up isn’t going to make it less useless this time around, either.

He waited 3 months to do this little playacting. This is his job. I’ve been doing mine this whole time. He was phoning it in up until last night. Let’s not pretend this makes up for the Democrats’ subservience up until now.
Dude, we all certainly understand this less than a sitting senator. Get off it.
Maybe 7pm is significant, maybe it isn’t, but we are sitting here from our toilets still wiping the sleep from our eyes while this guy is giving a speech for 12 hours. Can we stop pretending we have any clue?
He’s going for the 24 hour record clearly so start time was irrelevant. He probably had a good nap before it started.
If the goal was actually stalling things, he’d have gotten more mileage not starting it at night, after all the real business had included. Could squeeze an extra half a day of RESISTANCE in there before…checks notes the Democrats help confirm yet another fascist piece of shit appointee into power.
Like I said. It was performative.
There’s a level of servility in this comment that is just downright distasteful.
I show no submission to authority. The point of my post, which was meant to be a jab at the armchair politicians / optics gurus / 4d strategists in this chain who were arguing over the effectiveness of starting at 7pm.
Your argument is literally an appeal to Authority.
I used a slight appeal to authority to highlight the ridiculousness of the initial argument. I’m not typing out a million different nuances / hedging everything I say.
Multiple things can be true at same time. I can acknowledge that a sitting senator obviously has some idea of what is / is not effective in terms of when / when not to filibuster while not bowing to the institution itself. Sorry I didn’t add three extra paragraphs about how despite being a US senator… Yada yada yada.

What a terrible argument that is, particularly in regards to elected officials.
