If you’ve watched any Star Trek this week, feel free to drop the episodes/movies and any thoughts you might have on them in the comments!
I’ve seen all the TOS movies in the last two weeks.
Nice! Do you have a favorite?
Not really, maybe WOK. I liked the movies but there is always a few things in each one that I don’t like. It’s not as big a deal in the show because it’s just a episode and you start over with the next one.
I’ve always been partial to The Motion Picture, and The Wrath of Khan is good too!
I tend to agree with your comments on the movies though. I’ve run into the same thing with all of the Star Trek movies over the years. I’ve never had any of them that really got me excited like the shows have.
My feeling has always been that Trek works best as a TV series. Movies (and by extension heavily serialized shows) often feel to me like just a buildup to an action sequence at the end, and one of the things I like about Trek is the number of times they find an alternative solution to the problem, with that being a last resort. But since action often gets more people in theatres, we don’t get that kind of story!
Yeah, I think it works best as a show too.
Rewatched SNW season two. It’s only ten episodes?! I didn’t remember that. It’s a mixed bag but still enjoyable.
Someone needs to turn the lights on inside the ship. Also, still pissed about Hemmer.
Yeah, they’re unfortunately only doing ten episodes a season. I wouldn’t mind if they bumped it up to 15 or so, but it doesn’t appear that’ll be happening.
I honestly thought the light level was pretty decent for the most part. It’s not TNG or TOS levels of bright by any stretch, but I think it would be comparable to DS9. The color of the walls has a big part in it though, which does make the bridge a bit dim at times.
I was disappointed they didn’t keep Hemmer too, he could have been an interesting regular!
I had some extra free time this week, so the TNG binge continues! I went from episode 6x06 clear up to 7x15. I should be finished with the series this week, and then on to the movies.
