First time magnet fishing (with a kit borrowed from my local library) in the Charles. Mostly just old nails but had a great time and will definitely do it again!
Also had a lovely conversation with the department of conservation and recreation about the hobby when I was asking about regulations in my area.

That’s awesome that you could borrow kit from your local library. I assume that would allow you to access a good size magnet without having to fork out a bunch of money on a hobby you haven’t tried before?
