Summary

Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s daughter, accused her father of giving a “definitely Nazi salute” at two rallies in January, calling his actions “fucking cringe.”

In an interview with Teen Vogue, she criticized Musk’s involvement in the Trump administration and advocated for trans rights, emphasizing the importance of gender-affirming care for minors.

Wilson, who transitioned as a teen, described Musk as cold and absent, and revealed she no longer associates with him or his family.

She also expressed fear over anti-trans legislation under Trump’s administration.

If you look only at it purely logically - think about power structures at play and who wants to get in Trumps inner circle. One of those battles is Bannon vs Musk.

I don’t know if he is a racists but Elon being intelligent he probably deduced that a “fake salute” would help get on the good graces of MAGA. And it seems to have paid off. He’s in the Oval Office and Bannon is begging Trump for attention using this third term rhetoric. Bannon hates musk. This is documented in videos.

Think in terms of power. If you wanted to out maneuver your opponents who do you need on your side and who do you need to cater to. MAGA fundamentally hates billionaires so musk has to Don (pun intended) the MAGA mask. Now this would be a fine game if it didn’t cause suffering on a global scale.

In conclusion. It was a Nazi salute but it was a calculated one.

I’ll gladly remove it if you explain why. I’m focused on the facts and trying to think logically. Have you never had to outmaneuver someone—whether in a game, a negotiation, or even in your career—by temporarily aligning with them to achieve a bigger objective? It’s not about being right, it’s about analyzing dynamics and outcomes.

Calling it the “most ignorant post on Lemmy” is quite a claim. Tens of millions of posts, and mine stands out that much? Honestly, that’s the most attention any comment of mine has ever gotten.

I’m open to being wrong, but let’s discuss the reasoning, not just resort to labeling.
