Question (especially for the occasional Mastodon and *key users): what do you think of the idea of me adding tags (like the community name) to my posts?
I don’t exactly know how the federation will handle this, but my guess is that the posts will then also show up more in Mastodon-like instances (or do they do that already?).
I’m not sure if this is wanted by the community in the mastodon-like part of the Fediverse or if it is better when the posts stay contained in this communities.

Unfortunately, while microblog>threadiverse federation results in sane, formatted, posts, threadiverse>microblog federation results in “toots” that are literally just the url to the original post on its home instance.

The media or text of posts is not displayed natively over on microblog sites.

    Last I checked.

      example of different post federation

Some posts seem to work fine.
But as @noriluna@shkey.cakestwix.com mentioned, Mbin does not send out useful posts for microblog platforms :(

Idea is fine by my standarts, I am proponent of different platform types bleeding into each other. As long as there’s no federation anomalies on kbin.earth side, like now it drops image from post and leaves link to image on kbin.earth storage instead. Related to tags, even some microblogs federate them as formatted link, which makes it not work like it should.

All is to say, idea is fine, but needs a bit of testing.
