One thing that hasn’t been mentioned so far i think: enterprise server hardware often has some form of remote management built in. This allows you to remotely start/stop your server, access the console, or even set up another OS without having to physically go to the server.
You can add similar features to consumer-grade hardware, but they aren’t as advanced.
