More like business interests versus you. The state is what we make it
Yep, this is the right answer. The wealthy would love us to use any division (including us vs. the state) to distract us from the war they’ve been waging on us for decades.
Then you get this one
“You can’t trust the government.”
“But you are the government.”
“Yes, that’s what I’m saying.”
This is confusing because the issue is federal right now. It’s the Feds against you. Many of the States are actually our last line of defense right now.
I get that state is being used outside of our “states”, but again, more confusing than clever.

It’s not capitalists, it’s fascists. Corruption without virtually any checks is the problem. In short, it’s greed.
Democratic socialism was a really great dream many of us had before our country began deteriorating. It’s still a great vision.

Well by that logic we should always choose the weakest possible government, that’s small state talk, sounds kinda red to me.
By small state republicans mean a state that only supports the rich
this doesn’t make any sense. it’s maybe not red versus blue, but red is a huge problem.
While true, let’s not ignore the fact that some citizens are definitely rabid about their party affiliation, and others are so fixated on other things like white nationalism that they’re as much the enemy as capitalism.

Cool. That’s not what I was talking about. I was talking about the fact that there’s more the the story when it comes down to who is going to be a useful and acceptable ally against capitalism. You don’t work with the klan, no matter what their political belief is. And there are socialist bigots, as well as anarchist bigots. They’re no more an ally than a capitalist bigot is.
And which part of the state is the one that wants to use violence against you? The conservative part or the not conservative part?
