The President is top of the Executive Branch, holds total power over federal agencies. Which used to be wielded with discretion, but now…, not so much.

The thing no one talks about is how Congress spent the 20th century ceding more and more power to the Executive. The Legislative Branch, both Democrats and Republicans, spent decades and decades giving up their own power to check the Executive. It’s one of the most bizarre, and destructive, trends in our political history. Guess both sides thought it would work for them when they get the Executive seat?
