    I like that company because sometimes they’re the only “mainstream” source covering something at all. If they’re biased and we’re forcibly shutting down media agencies for being biased then there are some much higher priorities we should be after.

      Bias shouldn’t even be a consideration. If they’re not actively a criminal organization then governments can fuck right off with that nonsense.

    That’s not suspicious at all. One of probably the most fair news sites, and Israel wants to remove them… Uh oh.

      I wouldn’t say fair. They are a state-owned press agency, and accordingly their material should be read in the context of how it aligns with the views of the Qatari government.

      But they do have a perspective they report from, and that perspective deserves to be voiced just as much as any of the more western-aligned publications. Like most stories, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, so I see them as a check on otherwise one-sided accounts of the Middle East.

    Yeah, I dunno about that. I don’t read them a lot, but when I do, I’ve actually never noticed a strong bias to their news presentation.

    Not counting opinion or analysis pieces, where completely avoiding bias is unrealistic, anyway.
