Is it that complicated though? Oligarchs are buying up media, just as they have done before, but that last part doesn’t really matter to me. Should it matter? The issue for me is what they are doing to it at the moment, in this era. In my era.
It’s troubling, really. A country so fixated on democracy (as they should be), sure has very limited access to unbiased news outlets. And the fact that it’s the most powerful country in the world makes it worse. 🥲

Yes, it is all very complicated. You could spend your whole life studying this stuff and end up realizing that there is still way more to learn.
