Metal is like cereal. There’s a thousand varieties, its marketing has vibrant characters, and everyone has their favorite style
I think it’s more like spicy food. Tons of different ways to make food spicy. It’s generally a little more rough than other “easier” foods, and some people just can’t handle it at all.

Left wing folk (Phil Ochs, et al) is like a vegan General Tso. You’re sure you’re going to be missing something, it can’t be as good as the original, it has an agenda… But it turns out to be fucking amazing, and way better than the one with chicken
Rockabilly is Southern Fried. :)
Industrial metal is the feeling of chewing on aluminum foil
Hip-hop is like special fried rice. All types of left over bits and pieces recooked and mixed together to make something new.
Chiptune: sour candy. It’s artificial, it’s energising as it is sour, and it reminds of childhood when computers were all about bloops and bleeps.
I feel like heavy metal would be like biting into a gumball and realizing it’s a jawbreaker/gobstopper.
