Does he have a book out or something that needs us reminding of his existence?
No, there’s no tilting to far, tilt all in, tilt like you never tilted before, tilt until you’re one with the union. Let it swallow you whole.
Lol of course it’s about “Labour” being afraid of having any resemblance with the name of their party. Pathetic. Just like in my Germany, where the “social democrats” are also indeferrentiable from the conservatives.
Fuck off, Pete
Tilting too far towards full socialism is not the same as adopting unionisation. Unionisation is only about having a collective voice. Kids need to understand the importance of unions; they do not need pushing away from them. Part of that must mean giving unions some power back. Remove the restrictive practises that the Tories have implemented on unions. Adopt better fire and rehire protections. And the one that Labour has already made as a promise, make good labour practises part of an award for public contracts. The Tories giving P&O £300m in contracts after they sacked the workers on the ferries was about as abhorrent as it gets. I sincerely hope Labour revoked some of those.
Or what? Or what!? Let’s find out what the answer to that follow-up question is.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Tony Blair’s government had been too late to embrace industrial strategy, believing it “went against the grain” of a market-driven economy.
He added there had been a change in thinking since the 1990s, with an acceptance the state could play a bigger role in helping secure jobs in new industries.
Labour’s plans for improving the economy and boosting skills have been a key focus of its conference in Liverpool, which could be the last before the next general election, expected next year.
Whilst there could be opportunities to borrow to boost the economy, he added, the incoming government would depend “above all else” on the private sector to invest.
He warned that Labour should “take care” not to reintroduce rights for trade unions that would create “rigidities” in the jobs market.
This would include, he said, "giving all expression to "massive strike funds “so beloved of Len McCluskey and Sharon Graham” - the former and current bosses of Unite, one of Labour’s biggest union backers.

Funny how it’s always oops, don’t want to give too much to the people and never don’t want to give too much power to the corporations or the rich.

Labour are so fucking depressing. Why anyone supports them beyond “I guess they’re not as bad as the Tories” I don’t understand.
