Summary

Masked neo-Nazis marched through Columbus, Ohio’s Short North neighborhood on Saturday, displaying swastika flags and making racist and antisemitic statements.

Police are investigating, and no arrests have been reported.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Columbus officials condemned the display, emphasizing that hate and bigotry have no place in the state.

The incident follows a similar demonstration in Michigan last week, where masked protesters displayed Nazi flags outside a performance of The Diary of Anne Frank.

I will never again wonder how a group like the KKK was able to form, thrive, and persist for so long, inside the USA.

So glad I don’t live there. I’m worried about you all.

    Good luck.

It should be legal to just round up a bunch of people and beat the absolute piss out of these guys. Just a savage beating to within an inch of their lives, as a warning to anybody who thinks this shit is okay or cool.

It always makes me laugh. These people are pro Israel for its government, which is right wing, but they hate Jewish people lol. That’s why you have the MGTs of the world talking about Jewish space lasers and Jews run Hollywood and Jews run the media.

      Trump loves the poorly educated.

These ding-a-lings have been supporting Israel (cynically) for a long time. First of all, they hate Muslims even more as a general rule, and for their silly fantasy that involves Yeshua flying back on a cloud, they think the Jews need to occupy Israel. This is why we have xtian zionists.

Israel isn’t representative of Jewish people. It uses jewish people as a shield from criticism. Israel is a pro-US colonialist project before it’s jewish. This is like saying that people hate leftists but they voted for the national socialist german worker’s party

yes, they hate arabs most of all, so they probably consider israel’s genocide to be based. they probably love the concept that they’re funding a war that will kill lots of jews and lots of arabs

I wonder what the amount of Trump gear vs Nazi flags was. It’s also very ironic how when Nazi’s march in the streets without a permit the cops just block off the street with their cars and perform crowd control to “help protect the city” (the Nazis). And when people of color march without a permit because cops killed another person over something stupid they get met with riot gear, tear gas, and rubber bullets.

It’s going to get so much worse before it gets better …

Reddit is not a reliable source for verified facts in any way, at any time, at all.

Ah, I forgot to consult the internet’s most reliable source for verified facts: random dude who sears he remembers somethings.

Given the details of the post with multiple photos, it’s plausible reddit’s the source of the image. I wasn’t able to find an older posting of it, but by all means share your link from 4+ years ago if you’ve got t.

I think they *are *entirely wrong though. This thread’s about Nazis in Columbus and whether they were caught. I don’t think “I remember this from years ago, trust me bro” is a convincing reason to dismiss the photos. Neither is their having been posted in reddit, even if they fucked up an unrelated thing over a decade ago.

Again, I’m happy to be disproven. If the image above was actually circulating years ago, it should be relatively easy to find it posted somewhere else prior to yesterday. I couldn’t find it, hence why I commented about it in the first place

I’m just addressing the fact that Reddit isn’t always correct and we should want more credible sources than random people submitting things online with no vetting. That’s where they aren’t entirely wrong. I’m not saying they’re right and their memory is a reason to believe this is incorrect, but they’re just some person online just like the Reddit user.

That will depend on whether they face state or federal charges. I’m curious if they will be charged at all if the only thing they did was “protest”.

It will depend a lot more on whether or not the fascist dictatorship coming into office in January gives a shit about state charges being out of their legal jurisdiction.

            I’m betting on not.

“We will not tolerate hate in Ohio,” Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine said in a statement on the social media platform X on Saturday evening.
